Was it real or just a dream?
Every night is always the same. Before going to sleep I just lie on my bed immersed in my own most profound thoughts until I finally catch myself in this cold empty room. I guess it is exactly the moment when tiredness takes control of my muscles, my brain, and even my soul.
The room had only a door and a window. There was a lamp up in the ceiling but it didn't work. The room was cold and dark making me feel that there was no desire for life, there was no sun shining in the sky and the only thing I wanted was too get out of there because I was feeling suffocated and freedom was something essential at that very instant.
Afterwards, I could her a lovely voice saying to me: "In very truth, will you let me go?" And I thought to myself what was wrong with me? Then another voice said roughly: " She can't let you go. You are part of her."
As I blinked my eyes I wasn't in that room anymore, I was in a place surrounded by volcanos and I could smell jasmine. Suddenly I felt someone tapping on my shoulder, I looked behind and there was a man standing in front of me. He was a short fat man with a thin moustache and wings on his back, he was carrying a trumpet. I don't know why I felt so terrified. He was staring at me with those mauve-amethyst eyes and he said: "I love you, take me for your bridegroom." And I replied: "I can't, you have no human soul." He looked miserable at that time and concluded saying: " If only you could send away your soul, then I could love you. Of what use is your soul young lady? Love is better than wisdom, more precious than wealth and fairer than any justice in the world you came from."
While he was saying all those words very smoothly I felt that I was sinking slowly. There was a huge and deep hole under my feet. I was desperate and thought to myself: "My instincts won't deceive me." Then I started to scream because I couldn't stop falling down.
Next I was in this boat in the middle of a lake. I looked inside the water and there was nothing inside it, nor even a small fish. However, in the very surface of the water I could see that something was reflecting on it. The image was gradually taking shape. It was a flower, the most beautiful flower I have ever seen. I tried to touch it because it seemed so real, and the rough voice said again: "You can't have it, you'll kill her." What was that supposed to mean? I guess I can't possess beauty as I always take things for granted. Although I would never surrender heaven at all.
Later I woke up in an enormous room. All the furniture was immense. I met this boy dressed like he was going on an expedition, with his backpack and a map in his hands. He asked me: "Do you know where you are going? I don't know where I'm going." And then I realised that I didn't know where I was going either. I was lost. And the boy said: "You know, I don't know where I am going or even who I am but I know what I want." And I asked him: "So, what do you want?" He replied: "The same as you and everybody else. Do you think I can get it?" I said: "Well..." and before I had the chance to answer him, he said:" I am faithful to what I want and there is no holding me back. But thanks young lady.
While I was trying to find my way out of that place, a little girl came to me and said: "Why are you looking for a shortcut? You are cheating!" What was she talking about? I was thinking to myself. But she continued: " Young lady, honesty is a hard attribute to find and worst than deceiving someone is deceiving yourself. If you take a shortcut you are surrendering to the best things you can get from life. You should follow your heart, don't listen to the others, they don't feel how you feel, your own experiences are gifts, keep them."
I finally decided to go through the immense open door that was right in front of me.
There was an amazing garden outside. I was delighted with such a wonderful place. It was full of trees and colourful flowers. There was also a water fountain made of gold and bright little pearls. I could feel the delicate breeze moving my hair gently and such a peace. My heart was beating so fast, I've never felt that sensation before. It felt like I was being kissed by nature.
Following that I was hearing a very irritating and distant sound, and as much as I tried to ignore it, it was impossible. Forcefully, I was somehow brought to the real world by my alarm clock. End of story.
